The ideal candidate will be a committed and versatile engineer with a strong sense of personal accountability who can function in an interdisciplinary team and drive tasks to completion.
Qualifications:
BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
2+ years of product design experience, preferably in consumer electronics
High competency in solid modeling (Solidworks/Pro-E)
Deep understanding of mechanical design principles
Knowledge of materials (especially plastics and metals) and injection molding processes
Experience in plastic part design, taking into account drafting principles, dimensioning and tolerances
Familiarity with tool and fixture design for high volume plastic parts
Ability to work with industrial designers to achieve an aesthetically pleasing and manufacturable product
25% travel to Asia to support mechanical engineering efforts as well as any other department as needed
Experience with electromechanical products; rudimentary understanding of PCB layout/design conventions
Effective in high pressure environments with demanding time lines and various responsibilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Hands-on fabrication skills (competency with shop equipment, familiarity with rapid prototyping methodologies, hand finishing/sculpting)
Ability to sketch/communicate ideas visually
Experience with Adobe CS
Experience in test method development (in-line & outbound QC)
